Haulage bosses from six fuel distribution firms are due to resume talks with the Unite union this morning (10 April) following the Easter weekend. Conciliation service Acas is leading the discussions, which kicked off last Wednesday (4 April) and continued for two days, over tanker drivers’ training, safety and employment conditions. Roadways Container Logistics is to introduce Fargo Systems’ smartphone telematics software into its business, allowing employees to respond to changing delivery and planning requirements on the go. The five-year deal will see the Tops On the Go Android smartphone software put in the hands of employees working out of Roadways’ seven depots.
