Howard Tenens

A £1.26m environmental funding boost for Gloucestershire-based Howard Tenens will help it to convert 34 of its LGVs to dual-fuel power and install gas refuelling infrastructure in Swindon.

The company says the Department for Transport award will drive forward its existing sustainable transport strategy focusing on CNG and biogas technologies and remove even more carbon from its operations.

It teamed up with John Lewis Partnership and Lenham Storage in its bid and will also be supported by CMS Supa Trak and Emissions Analytics for data and emissions verification.

Successful applicants must match the level of funding, so the total investment in the low carbon programme will top £2.5m.

Howard Tenens group CRS director Catherine Crouch said: “It will enable us to build on the success of our current CNG and biogas programme and offer a truly sustainable transport solution to even more of our customers.”
