NWF Group, parent of Boughey Distribution, has recruited Brendon Banner as its new group finance director. Banner, who will take up his role in early November, is currently group finance director at steel engineering and fabrication group William Hare. This does make a big difference to the MT Tracker as Rentokil’s size, in comparison to every other listed transport firm, was distorting the results of the Tracker. Excluding Rentokil gives us a much truer picture of investor sentiment in the sector.
The promise of a solid first half in its financial year did little to improve investor confidence in Stobart Group – because investors were already ahead of the curve. On 17 April it was trading at a year low of 76.5pence per share. Today its at its year high of 109.5p – proving that investors have faith in the direction Andrew Tinkler is taking the company.
