Stobart Group has been granted permission for a 374,000 ft² distribution centre as part of its approved planning application to re-develop Carlisle Airport. This does make a big difference to the MT Tracker as Rentokil’s size, in comparison to every other listed transport firm, was distorting the results of the Tracker. Excluding Rentokil gives us a much truer picture of investor sentiment in the sector.
Leeds-based Clipper Logistics is creating over 300 jobs at a new site on Teesside, following the signing of a 10-year deal last year with retailer Asda to provide deconsolidation solutions for its George clothing brand.
