Pentalver has signed a deal that will see it open a vehicle pre-clearance facility for the export of second-hand vehicles. The deal is a joint venture with New Zealand-based vehicle logistics firm Autohub and Japanese inspection company Jevic and is based at Pentalver’s depot in Felixstowe. Nick Matthews, formerly MD of Roadways Container Logistics, has joined Pentalver as general manager of its Cannock operation just weeks after Roadways was bought by Maritime Transport.
Felixstowe Port’s ongoing attempts to resolve traffic congestion and slow turnaround times have been dealt a blow, after the chief executive of rival Peel Ports said customers should snub it in favour of northern terminals.
