Pentalver has signed a deal that will see it open a vehicle pre-clearance facility for the export of second-hand vehicles. The deal is a joint venture with New Zealand-based vehicle logistics firm Autohub and Japanese inspection company Jevic and is based at Pentalver’s depot in Felixstowe. The Port of Felixstowe has apologised for disruption to hauliers after a perfect storm of surging import volumes, empty containers and Covid-19 led to long delays at the country’s largest container terminal.
Freight forwarders are demanding the government intervenes in a dispute between Felixstowe Port owners and users.
Container operator Pentalver has added 52 new Scania R series tractor units to its road haulage fleet. The vehicles are to be split between its Cannock and Felixstowe operations, with 45 and seven vehicles going to each site respectively.
