Pentalver has warned there could be casualties in the container haulage market in the second half of the year as the sector struggles with low volumes. A 316,000ft² DC is to be built at the Logistics Park neighbouring DP World’s London Gateway container port.
Nick Matthews, formerly MD of Roadways Container Logistics, has joined Pentalver as general manager of its Cannock operation just weeks after Roadways was bought by Maritime Transport.
Container haulier Pentalver was “assisted greatly by an upsurge in market conditions” in 2014 after it saw a 7.3% rise in turnover year-on-year.
