Irish parcels firm Nightline celebrated its 20th year in business with a visit from Ireland’s deputy prime minister Eamon Gilmore. Speaking at the firm’s Dublin headquarters, Gilmore said Nightline’s success during a period of economic uncertainty was due to the company’s “solid foundation” of innovation, commitment and hard work. UPS is buying Irish express delivery and logistics firm Nightline Logistics Group for an undisclosed sum.
Nightline is to invest €5m into the roll-out of its self-service parcel terminals across the UK, creating 50 jobs in the process. The Irish carrier says the funding will be used to set up the infrastructure for 400 Parcel Motel locker boxes that will all be operation by the end of 2014.
