Trailer manufacturer Montracon has launched a full length double-deck reefer trailer following demand from operators for greater carrying capacity within the standard 13.6m trailer length.
The 4.7m high straight frame trailer, called Jumbo during its development, has a 3.2m internal height creating 150m3 internal capacity. It can carry up to 52 UK pallets, or 66 Euro-sized pallets, using adjustable decking beams.
Sales and marketing director Paul Mead says the trailer fills a gap in its refrigerated range.
“It will appeal to operators moving fast food and supplying RDCs, a point reinforced by the fact that we have already taken our first order, for 20, from a major third party logistics provider serving these sectors,” he says.
Kerbweight is approximately at 9,300kg and Montracon will consider building a 15.65m version if asked. Specification includes Carrier or Thermo King fridge units as standard, along with dual fuel tanks slung beneath the trailer frame as an option.
