As Group Content Editor I am involved with news and features across Commercial Motor and Motor Transport, both online and in print. I work closely with the editors and our content team to ensure we continue to cover the most important and relevant stories for our readers, week in, week out, and don’t miss any big developments.
I enjoy talking to our readers regularly about their business issues and concerns which helps me shape what topics the team and I need to stay on top of in our publications. Fuel duty, VOSA station closures and parking fines are just some of the issues I have tackled over the past few years and on the horizon at the moment are longer semi-trailers and the Olympics.
My role also sees me getting involved with industry campaigns and last year I had the pleasure of leading our coverage of the FairFuelUK campaign which successfully persuaded the government not to raise fuel duty.
As well as editing and proof reading I still get the chance to investigate and write my own stories which is why I became a journalist in the first place. Before joining Motor Transport in 2008 as news editor, I spent three years on weekly B2B trade journal Computer Reseller News, firstly as senior reporter and then as features editor. Prior to that I worked as a news reporter on Contract Journal for three and a half years. My very first steps into journalism were as editorial assistant on Flight International in 1999.
