ArrowXL

ArrowXL has secured a four-year deal with appliance manufacturer Smeg UK, which has moved its deliveries to the operator from its own in-house network.

The Italian manufacturer, known for its distinctive retro style fridges and freezers, has opted to just use Arrow's premium Platinum service for its home deliveries.

The four-year deal will see Arrow provide specialist product handling, assembly, installation and connection.

It will also give consumers a recycling service for outgoing white goods. The two man delivery firm anticipates its crews making around 300 deliveries a week.

Smeg UK decided to move to Arrow from its in-house service to give it the freedom to scale the opertation as needed.

Smeg UK operations director Robert Ponting said: "ArrowXL’s commitment to providing the very best customer experience shone through during a competitive tender process.

"We were thoroughly impressed by the development of the AskAxl app, which enhances consumer convenience and control. This ambition ensured that ArrowXL was the natural choice for Smeg UK.”

Arrow XL Charlie Shiels, who recently confirmed he was filling the role permanently after the sudden exit of predecessor IanHowell, added: "In many cases, our delivery crews will provide the only human contact for the end user.

"We are an extension of the overall brand experience and it is therefore vital that we deliver exceptional standards at all times.

"Smeg is an instantly recognisable and world famous brand, and we look forward to building a highly successful partnership.”
