Aggregate Industries will expect all its sub-contractors to have at least bronze level FORS accreditation by March 2018. The decision will affect more than 600 sub-contractors, and Aggregate Industries has committed to paying 20% of the annual FORS subscription fee those in the scheme pay. Transport for London (TfL) has disqualified a member of the Fors scheme for the first time: Cowan Plant of Hayes.
The Fortec Distribution Network has become an associate member of the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (Fors), TfL’s London-based accreditation scheme.
Sir Peter Hendy, commissioner at TfL, opened the fourth meeting of the Construction Logistics and Cycle Safety (Clocs) initiative with an admission: “I did not expect this activity to grow as quickly as it has.” He added later in his keynote speech: “You all work on relatively thin margins but you’re bursting with ideas about how to make things safer.”
