Logistics and installation specialist Bishopsgate is replacing its Manchester depot with a new and larger facility in Warrington to meet the company’s expansion plans.
The new facility, located at the Eagle Park industrial park, close to the M6/M62 intersection, is the latest addition to the firm’s existing chain of depots in London, Swindon and Glasgow. It replaces Bishopsgate’s former North West depot in Trafford Park.
The Swindon-based company, which specialises in transporting, installing and storing fragile, sensitive or oversized equipment, said the new depot will provide a strategic link with its network of UK depots and help support its European operations via its partnership with the European specialist hi-tech transport and logistics network Teneso.
Bishopsgate currently has an O-Licence for 59 trucks and 29 trailers across three UK sites.
Tim Bloch, Bishopsgate MD, said the new depot is “a key part of Bishopsgate’s strategic plans and allows the company to seamlessly continue its expansion of services and capability.”
Bishopsgate operations head Martin Gorman said the new site ,which is twice the size of the Trafford Park depot, will drive greater operational and give the company capacity for future expansion.
“The new depot will enable us to provide an excellent working environment for Bishopsgate staff that will enable us to continue to provide high quality and efficient services to our customers,” he said.
Gorman added: “While clearly retaining our current workforce during this transition is a priority, we have also begun our recruitment campaign in the Warrington area to recruit new people. Bishopsgate are expanding and this has created a number of new job opportunities in the area which is always good news.”
