Wincanton has built on its relationship with Ikea with a new three-year home delivery contract. The operator will delivery to Ikea customers’ homes across the South East, working out of three stores, including Wembley. Wincanton is set to offer its customers a wider choice of delivery options after forging a partnership with technology provider Sorted.
Wincanton will be back in the black this financial year as the group’s extensive restructuring and disposals programme bears fruit. Wincanton chief executive Eric Born tells MT: “When [we] started this programme we said it would take two years to arrest the decline. We are bang on track. Smyths Toys Superstores has awarded Wincanton a one year distribution contract to handle the toy retailer’s nationwide deliveries.
