Arla bridgestone

Bridgestone has extended its tyre supply and maintenance deal with dairy farmer co-operative Arla Foods until 2020.

The deal sees Bridgestone take its partnership with Arla into its tenth consecutive year.

Under the arrangement Arla will be supplied with Bridgestone’s premium tyre range and Total Tyre Care package.

Arla said Bridgestone’s tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) and tailored support package, which had cut call out times by 30%, were major factors in its decision to extend the contract.

Arla inbound logistics director Richard Wilson added: ”We have been really impressed with Bridgestone on a number of levels for some time now, so the decision to extend our agreement was an easy one for us to make.

“Not only are the products extremely reliable and impressive from a performance point of view, but the levels of aftercare and associated services are also right up there.”

Bridgestone commercial sales director Greg Ward said: “We have demonstrated real value to Arla by not only reducing call-outs through our support, but also offering fuel savings by way of our TPMS technology.”

Bridgestone supplies Arla with a mix of new and retread tyres delivered by the Bridgestone Partner network and the Bandag retread network.

Under the contract Bridgestone fleet managers support Arla’s maintenance teams, offering specialist advice and consultation.

Ward added: “Discussions have been in place for some time now and we are delighted to have reached an agreement. We think it demonstrates longevity and offers an endorsement of our commercial fleet solutions.”
