Suttons Group is spending more than £17m upgrading 200 units on its fleet to provide capacity for the recent growth in its UK bulk tanker business.
The loss of customer Harvest Energy to Norbert Dentressangle in April 2014, after a competitive tender, has seen Suttons Group report £10.5m of discontinued activities in its UK road haulage business.
European chemical transport giant Hoyer has acquired the bulk liquid division of Dutch logistics company De Rijke. The deal sees Hoyer take on 240 employees at five De Rijke offices, including its site in Preston Brook, Cheshire. Across Europe Hoyer will add to its operations: 1,500 tanker containers, 130 tractors and 300 tanker trailers and chassis.
