The deputy head of the FTA will talk about what the association believes are the five most pressing industry issues at this year's Microlise Transport Conference.
James Hookham will talk about the incoming apprenticeship levy and the financial burden it will have on industry businesses, as well as the number of premature deaths in the UK attributed to poor air quality and the industry's part in this.
Hookham will also discuss the Bath tipper case, which saw Grittenham Haulage owner Matthew Gordon jailed for seven and a half years in January.
Also on the agenda is the 40% of UK international trade carried by HGVs and the cost of fuel duty to the industry.
Hookham joins speakers including transport minister John Hayes and senior traffic commissioner Beverley Bell.
