Wincanton has signed a five-year contract with Wilko to manage its transport operations, ending a 29-year relationship between the retailer and Canute Group. Wincanton will manage all UK transport operations for Wilko – at least 100,000 deliveries a year – from store replenishment to yard management and backhaul. Wincanton has signed a contract renewal with WH Smith, which will see its relationship with the high street retailer reach two decades. The logistics provider has won a three-year extension, as part of a collaborative transport agreement, that sees it delivering for a mixture of 30 retailers and manufacturers. By sharing loads it has enabled Wincanton to reduce the number of deliveries it makes, splitting costs among participants while cutting carbon emissions.
