The collapse of City Link triggered an influx of additional volumes into the large parcels market, Panther Warehousing MD Colin McCarthy has said. Disruption in retailer Habitat’s home deliveries has put delivery firm Panther Warehousing in the firing line of its customers.
City Link is investing in automated sortation at its Coventry hub, which it hopes will increase throughput by 50% and increase capacity for busy periods.
City Link’s administrator has revised up the amount it believes non-preferential creditors are owed by the collapsed parcel carrier. However, it said it is still waiting to hear from creditors that are owed a total of £12.8m that have not submitted a claim.
