everywoman 2017

The FTA Everywoman in Transport and Logistics Awards has had a birthday makeover for its 10th anniversary, with a list of brand new categories for next year’s event.

Nominations are open for the awards, which will name two winners – a “leader” and an “above and beyond” candidate – in each of the six categories.

The categories include a dedicated freight award, as well as categories for supply chain and warehousing. An infrastructure award will also recognise two women contributing to either road or rail infrastructure.

Everywoman co-founder Maxine Benson said: “The speed of change that the sector is experiencing is unprecedented, the industry offers huge opportunities for women seeking rewarding careers.

“We want to celebrate the brilliance of transport and logistics’ brightest female talent and call upon all those in the industry to nominate peers and colleagues who deserve to have their achievements recognised and rewarded.”

FTA chief executive David Wells added: “Only 1% of HGV drivers in the UK are women. These awards uncover role models whose stories can inspire the truck drivers and transport managers of the future."

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 21 June 2017 at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square.
