Menzies Distribution has said that a successful transition has taken place from the previous supplier of national logistics at WH Smith as it begins work on a three-year contract. The deal that would have see DX Group acquire Menzies Distribution has been called off, and a new board of directors is set to be installed at DX under the guidance of its largest shareholder – Gatemore Capital Management.
The DX Group shareholder leading the charge against the company’s proposed acquisition of John Menzies’ distribution arm has increased its holding in the company by 10%.
Wincanton has signed a contract renewal with WH Smith, which will see its relationship with the high street retailer reach two decades. The logistics provider has won a three-year extension, as part of a collaborative transport agreement, that sees it delivering for a mixture of 30 retailers and manufacturers.
