Suttons Tankers, part of Suttons Group, said it is in its “best interests” to walk away from its eight-year relationship with British Sugar when its contract expires later this year. The North West operator won the contract in a competitive tender in 2008 from incumbent Turners (Soham), which had previously held the contract for 34 years. Underlay and flooring accessory manufacturer Interfloor has outsourced its transport to Norbert Dentressangle, in a three-year multi-million pound deal. The operation involves more than 100 outbound movements from Interfloor’s production sites in Haslingden, Lancashire and Scotland’s Dumfries. ND will use a new fleet of 19 artics with cutainside-trailers and 11 (18-tonne) rigids to handle the outbound movements. It will also make more than 500 customer deliveries a week.
