XPO Logistics has renewed its contract with kitchen and bathroom manufacturer Moores Furniture Group.

The Wetherby, West Yorkshire-based furniture firm first made the switch from an in-house distribution model to XPO Logistics in 2013.

XPO carries out pre-booked and next-day deliveries for Moores’ customers across the UK, which include social housing developments and private builds, independent retailers, builders’ merchants and large DIY stores.

As part of the renewal deal, XPO has invested in a new dedicated fleet of more than 30 vehicles to distribute products from Moores’ Wetherby manufacturing site, with the operation running out of the logistics firm’s Motherwell, Chalton (near Luton) and Gloucester hubs.

In addition, for large furniture products, XPO Logistics’ Specialist Services operation will provide two-man, last-mile deliveries that will be offloaded in specially equipped materials handling vehicles and installed at the destination.
