XPO Logistics has won a storage and distribution contract with toy manufacturer VTech.

While the “long term” contract is XPO’s first with the company in the UK, the businesses have a longstanding relationship elsewhere in Europe.

The operation will be based at XPO’s shared user facility in West Hallam, Derbyshire, where its warehouse will hold more than 10,000 VTech pallets during peak times.

XPO will pick, pack and deliver the products for the client. It will also manage a reverse logistics operation for VTech under the terms of the contract.

VTech operations director, Paul Holding, said that XPO was the ideal candidate for the contract because it was “readily” able to accommodate growth and adapt to changing requirements.

He added: “The West Hallam facility’s proximity to major parcel and pallet network hubs will bring greater efficiency to our customer service infrastructure and allow for later cut-off times for orders.”
