The winners of the Future Truck Design Awards will be revealed at this year’s CV Show- and you’re invited to attend the ceremony.

TfL’s competition, which was open to schools, colleges and universities across the UK, asked students to help shape what the urban delivery vehicles of the future will look like, incorporating elements such as safety, efficiency and clean technology into their designs.

Students were asked to enter their designs for three categories: whole vehicle design, safety feature innovation, and system of operation.

The whole vehicle design category looked at the design of the entire vehicle, with features to help protect the driver and other road users.

For the safety feature innovation category, students were asked to design a single feature that could be incorporated into a truck to enhance safety for the driver and other road users such as pedestrians and cyclists.

The system of operation category looked for smart and innovative ideas for delivering freight into cities in a safer way.

The winning and highly commended entries will be celebrated at the Metropole Hotel, near the Birmingham NEC on 26 April.

You will hear from an expert speaker line-up including vehicle design experts, road safety specialists and truck operators who will discuss and debate the challenges of future truck design. The seminar programme will commence at 10.30am, with the awards presentation concluded by 2pm. Book now to attend the awards day on the Future Truck Design Awards website.
