Fortec has introduced new functionality to its IT system for its haulier members.

Branded as MapIT, ReportIT and TrackIT, the new capabilities build on upgrades it has been making to its IT during the past few years including the introduction of Fortec Connect.

MapIT allows members to plan drivers’ routes using drag and drop, optimise routes and relay information to drivers’ mobile phones.

ReportIT is an instant message board embedded into Fortec’s transport management system allowing members to communicate with each other.

TrackIT is allows members to view where their vehicles are via the Fortec Connect app on a driver’s mobile device.

Chris Dennigan, Fortec’s business improvements and performance manager, said: “MapIT, TrackIT and ReportIT allow our members to offer a more seamless service to their customers by enabling them to plan routes more efficiently and to keep in touch with developments in real time.”
