Scottish haulier The Real McKay has taken delivery of six new tri-axle Gray & Adams trailers fitted with Carrier Transicold’s Vector 1350 fridge unit – the lightest refrigeration system in the Vector range.
Weighing in at 645kg, the Vector 1350 is between 59kg and 266kg lighter than other Vector models, helping to maximise vehicle payload. Powered by a 1.1-litre engine that is claimed up to 30% more fuel efficient than previous Maxima units, they operate at just 69dB(A).
The new mono-temperature units join a fleet of 33 Carrier Transicold-cooled reefers at the vehicle operator and will be in action seven days a week, chilling loads of fresh fish as they are transported across the UK and mainland Europe.
