Sky's the limit for XPO with AgustaWestland helicopter contract

XPO Logistics has been tasked with transporting eight Lynx helicopters between Brazil and the UK on behalf of AgustaWestland.

The helicopter company has been commissioned by the Brazilian Navy to replace their engines, navigation systems, display consoles and mission avionics.

XPO, said to have a long-standing relationship with the company, will handle, store and transport the helicopters to and from AgustaWestland’s Yeovil, Somerset facility, where the work will take place.

XPO has bases for its global forwarding operation in both Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

Jim Joyce, from customer service & support at AgustaWestland, said: “XPO Logistics manages regular inbound and outbound movements of spare parts for us in Brazil, and has shipped helicopters to the UK on two previous occasions.
