Ceva Logistics has signed a new warehousing and distribution contract with Continental worth more than $50m (£33m). The five year contract will see Ceva manage the tyre manufacturer’s 21,000m² warehouse, including the receiving, storage and dispatching of around three million tyres every year. Cambridge-based Welch’s Transport has won a three year extension to its contract with Paperchase. The firm, which began working for the stationery, cards and gift-wrap manufacturer in 2007, makes collections from the Paperchase’s Thrapston, Northamptonshire DC and delivers to around 120 outlets. Welch’s sales and marketing manager Mike Bentham said the contract win demonstrated the firm’s “consistently high-quality service delivery”, adding that this had “helped beat off a number of eager rivals” for the new business. DHL Supply Chain has won a two year extension to its NHS Supply Chain contract and has been set a target to deliver £300m of savings by October 2018, operating in a more transparent manner.
