TIP Trailer Services UK has acquired the entire share capital of Bell Trailers (Rental), adding a fleet of 1,400 trailers to its 13,000 strong trailer portfolio.
The Bell stock is predominantly curtainsiders, although there are also refrigerated, box van and skeletal trailers within the existing fleet.
The deal concluded on 21 August and Michael Bell, MD of Bell Trailers said: "The timing was right for us to complete this deal and we firmly believe that further growth will be achieved under the ownership of a company we trust."
Mike Furnival, TIP UK's general manager, said that TIP was acquiring an "excellent business" which was "fully focused on delivering quality equipment and service to their customers".
"The addition of TIP’s service products, combined with our UK and European network, should only enhance the excellent service currently being provided [by Bell],” he added.
Bell Trailers will continue to operate from its existing site in Nelson, Lancashire, and will retain its existing management team.
