Dairy Crest has renewed its distribution contract with Wincanton for a further three years, extending the partnership between the two organisations beyond its 25th year.

Wincanton handles nearly one billion litres of milk per year for Dairy Crest collecting from over 500 producers across the south of England and Wales for delivery to three dairies.

Mike Sheldon, MD of dairies at Dairy Crest, said that the company had a long tradition of working with farmers to make its supply chain "as efficient as possible" and it was also looking at ways to reduce its operational impact on the environment.

"Wincanton was able to clearly demonstrate how it could help us sustain and build on these commitments," he said.

Earlier this week Wincanton signed a new five year deal to manage all six of B&Q’s distribution centres.
