The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) gained over 70 new members in the first half of this year.

Among the 73 firms to have joined since January are Arrow Self Drive, Asset Finance Solutions, MV Commercial and North East Truck & Van.

The association’s membership has now reached a 10-year high at over 750 firms.

“We are delighted to welcome all these members into the association and look forward to working with them,” said BVRLA chief executive, Gerry Keaney.

Over the last 18 months, the BVRLA has worked with the Competition and Markets Authority in its review of the car rental sector and with the Financial Conduct Authority in its development of a consumer credit regime. It has also got its Conciliation Service approved by the Trading Standards Institute – one of the first alternative dispute resolutions services in the UK to achieve this.

  • The BVRLA has also partnered with Motor Transport in the production of CV Informer, an annual report highlighting the top 100 UK rental, leasing and contract hire companies. The latest CV Informer will be published on 10 August.
