Heywood, Lancashire-based Yearsley Logistics has still not commenced construction of the new 35m-high cold store in Peterborough it got planning approval for nearly two years ago.

Work on the 385,000ft² site, which Yearsley began planning in 2012 but then ran into trouble with the local parish council over during the planning process, was originally due to begin during 2014, MD Harry Yearsley indicated when planning permission was granted in mid-2013.

But speaking to Motortransport.co.uk this week, a spokeswoman for the company admitted that work had not yet begun on the new hub - though she was unable to explain exactly why or tell us when completion of the new site was now likely.

“It’s still there and they are still planning on building. There have been other projects in the works,” she said.
