O’Donovan Waste Disposal is investing £15m in a new processing facility in west London.
Close to Hanger Lane, the three-acre Alperton site will feature an enclosed material reception and recycling facility that sorts and processes construction and demolition waste into recoverable and reusable materials, such as graded aggregate.
The north-London operator said the new site will enable the business to handle increasing levels of material and minimise distances waste is travelling across the capital.
Around 50 jobs will be created across a range of operational roles, including drivers and waste handlers.
MD Jacqueline O’Donovan said: “We have been looking for a suitable site for many years and this is in an ideal location for us. There are so many large, long-term development projects in London that there is a real need for increased recycling infrastructure like this. Construction has already started and we hope to be fully operational in late spring.”
O’Donovan Waste Disposal has been working alongside vehicle manucturers as part of a Clocs steering group to help promote the design of safer urban vehicles, of which it displayed three at a recent event in London (pictured). It is also a Fors gold member.
