Union Unite has warned further industrial action could be on the cards by drivers and warehouse staff at white goods manufacturer Indesit UK, if a ballot on the company’s latest pay offer leads to it being rejected.
Transport minister Claire Perry has met a delegation from the RHA to discuss the crippling driver shortage and the RHA’s proposal for a £100m package of grants to train new HGV drivers.
More than 200 drivers and warehouse staff at Indesit UK are to carry out four days of industrial action from the end of next week.
