sainsburys click and collect

Sainsbury’s has launched a grocery click and collect service at some of its supermarkets.

Customers who shop for groceries online will be able to get their orders delivered to the store the next day for collection from a refrigerated van parked in the supermarket’s car park. Some 100 stores are planned to offer the service by the end of the year.

Sainsbury’s online director Robbie Feather said: "This is yet another step for Sainsbury’s increasingly popular online service, and a demonstration of our commitment to giving our customers more convenient ways to shop with us, wherever and whenever they want.

"We’ll have 20 locations live by the end of March and will quickly roll out our service from there, incorporating feedback from our customers and colleagues as we go."

The supermarket expects its first online fulfilment DC in Bromley, east London, to open in 2016. The 185,000ft² site will be used solely for online orders.
