County Antrim-based vehicle operator Woodside Haulage (Holdings) managed to boost turnover by nearly 10% in the year to the end of March 2014, its latest accounts have shown.

Turnover rose 9.6% to £51.36m in the period (2013: £46.84m) while profit before tax was up 4.2% to just under £1m (2013: £959,000).

MD Tim Woodside declined to comment on the results, but in the accounts filed at Companies House, the firm’s directors described the level of business during the year and the company’s financial position at the end of it as “satisfactory”.

They added that they expected Woodside’s level of activity to be “sustained for the foreseeable future”.

The company, whose activities include general haulage, automotive transport, tanker work and warehousing, has sites in Belfast and Dublin as well as Preston in Lancashire, and employs just over 400 staff.
