Bibby Distribution has had its contract with retail and corporate interiors fitter and supplier Havelock extended by one year.

Deliveries and collections are made using a mixed fleet of standard-length and urban artics to allow easier delivery to city centres. As the goods are often low-weight, Bibby has also added double-decker trailers into the contract to allow more items to be loaded onto the trailer.

Bibby has held the contract since 2004 and it involves moving products from the Havelock DC in Dysart, Fife, to customers that include Lloyds Bank, Primark and Marks & Spencer. It also provides shunting  from its Kirkcaldy factory to the DC.

Paul Doleman, operations director at Havelock, said: “We are a challenging customer as the nature of our business is 'just-in-time’, and our volumes fluctuate dramatically. That means we need a very flexible delivery partner. Bibby Distribution delivers on its promises, which means we can keep ours.”
