CM Downton is to extend its 100,000ft² Quedgeley warehouse, after a surge in business and new contract wins.
It plans to add 27,000ft² of warehousing space to the site, which is located on the Quedgeley West Business Park in Gloucestershire. The development represents a £1.5m investment by the firm and is hoped to be completed in the new year.
MD Andy Downton said: “It comes at the end of a great year for the business in which we’ve seen a huge uplift in orders from existing clients and number of business wins, including a new contract with the Plastics division of European packaging giant DS Smith.”
Downton, part of the Jigsaw haulage consortium, recently purchased 50 new tractor units and ordered 60 trailers from Tiger Trailers.
