CitySprint has become the latest operator to introduce a parcel shop service to its delivery portfolio with the opening of a high street shop in Brighton.

The parcel shop (pictured below) offers new and existing customers services such as same-day delivery, next-day delivery and international delivery by courier.

Brighton service centre manager Emma Kiersey said: “We’re looking forward to expanding our offering in Brighton and extending our offering to more of the public.”

Parcel shop firm Doddle has also seen business grow in the past few months. It now has 24 parcel shops in operation, mainly at busy locations such as train stations, and expects 30 to be open by the end of this year. It plans to have opened around 250 shops in the next three years.

Doddle has also revealed two new contract wins. Hawes & Curtis has completely integrated the service into its online checkout, while fuel cell firm Intelligent Energy will use Doddle shops as ‘Upp Cartridge Exchange’ points where customers can swap empty USB fuel cells for full ones.

Of the Hawes & Curtis win, Doddle chief executive Tim Robinson said: “The Doddle service is focused on offering convenience to all shippers and retailers. Delivery is an extension of the overall customer journey and our highly efficient service will only improve the online shopping experience.”
