Bibby Supply Chain Services chief executive Iain Speak is to leave the business at the end of this year to form his own consultancy.
Speak has been with the firm for 17 years, overseeing a rise in Bibby Distribution’s turnover over that period from £63m to more than £300m.
He will continue to support Bibby Distribution [rebranded as Bibby Supply Chain Services in May] and other Bibby Line companies in his new role as a consultant, however.
“Iain has been at the centre of Bibby Distribution’s growth throughout his employment and has led transformational change, taking Bibby Distribution from a single product UK company to a portfolio of international businesses in 2014,” commented Bibby Line Group MD, Sir Michael Bibby.
“I’m very pleased Iain will continue to have an involvement with us on a consultancy basis,” he added.
A spokesman for the firm said Speak’s replacement would be announced “early in the new year”.
