TNT UK has placed an order for 192 aerodynamic box trailers with Cartwright.
The trailers feature the Cheetah Fastback aerodynamic sloping roof, an aerodynamic aerofoil, and modular side skirts that allow repairs to be done quickly to minimise vehicle downtime.
The two parties have worked together to adjust the trailers’ front and rear aerodynamics to ensure that potential damage costs are minimised. The new trailer fleet will feature TNT's recently launched 'the people network' branding.
Steve Davis, TNT UK’s national engineering manager said: “We are always looking for ways to minimise damage to our fleet. We like the aerodynamic design provided by Cartwright but there was a need to minimise this recurring damage issue.
“Working together with Cartwright, we have come up with an evolution of a design which we hope will go a long way to eradicating the problem.”
Cartwright group MD Mark Cartwright said: “TNT is a long-established and valued customer of Cartwright and it is a mark of our relationship that we work closely together to convert problems into solutions.”
