Rico Logistics has appointed a new head of HR, Tracy Jump (pictured), following a period of significant expansion at the business.

The Slough-based operator, which acquired the DHL Express same-day operation last October, said it has also been experiencing strong organic growth and the new role will be pivotal to Rico’s future strategy.

Jump previously worked for DHL UK for 10 years where she was head of HR and subsequently promoted to HR director.

She said: “Rico is at a key point in its growth and development strategy and HR will play a pi

votal role in helping to shape its future. I will be developing the HR function which will involve automated IT systems for the HR payroll and processes. Working with business stakeholders will be vital to help shape the culture of the organisation by utilising fit for purpose policies and developing new and existing talent.”

The Rico Group was launched in 1988 and now operates in 12 European countries and India with further European subsidiaries set for launch in the coming months.

In the year ended 31 March 2014, Rico Logistics reported turnover of £66m and a pre-tax profit of £5.3m, which includes the £756,000 it paid to acquire the DHL Express same-day business.

Rico Logistics was acquired itself by TVS Logistics Investment UK in October 2012.
