ECO Stars has launched a new website to help operators understand the environmental and financial benefits they could gain from learning how to improve fleet efficiency and lower fuel usage.
Launched in 2009 in South Yorkshire, the fleet recognition scheme has now expanded across the UK as well as into Spain, Italy and the Netherlands with more than 200 members and 15,000 fleet vehicles involved.
Any size operator can join the free-of-charge scheme, with some of the largest logistics companies already on board, such as Wincanton, DHL, Asda (pictured) and Sainsbury’s.
ECO Stars programme manager Ann Beddoes from Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, said: “ECO Stars has been expanding rapidly recently, and with more schemes imminent, we felt the time was right for a new website.
"One of the most impressive aspects is how our members have really embraced the opportunity to get involved – over 140 of them. The testimonials from operators speak for themselves – a real credit to the ECO Stars approach."
