The Fortec Distribution Network has announced the departure of its senior management team, after MD Neil Hodgson, the commercial director and the operations director all left the business earlier this month.

In a statement the pallet network said a new senior management structure was being put in place to “support both the operational and commercial sides of the business and take Fortec to the next level”.

“A key part of this restructure has been the promotion of former network operations manager Adrian Bradley to general manager of operations with immediate effect. Adrian’s role will be complemented in the near future with the appointment of a commercial general manager,” the statement said.

Marcus Fischer was finance director at Fortec before becoming commercial director in 2013 and had been with the business since 2006. Operations director Andrew Knowles, who was also previously with Target Express, joined Fortec in 2006.

The directors had been central to a policy that had seen the network increasingly focusing on high-value, time-sensitive goods under the ‘Fortec Way’ ethos. In recent years they had also spearheaded the launch of a corporate sales division and a refreshed identity and vehicle livery for the business, and were in the process of rolling out a new IT system based around the Fortec Connect App.

Jamie Cuthbert, MD at Geodis Calberson UK, said of the departures: “Fortec is a successful and thriving business to which the Geodis Group is 100% committed.

“I would like to thank the three directors for their contribution over a number of years during which we have seen the company advance considerably. I am confident that this new structure will mark a new era for Fortec and enable us to drive the business forward and further reinforce our market leading position.”
