Alford Traffic Services

Two transport managers at Lincolnshire bulk haulage firm Alford Traffic Services have completed a management buy-out.

The deal, which was completed by transport managers Will Peck and Mike Limb, has secured the future of the business after its owners decided to sell the company.

The aggregate and grain haulage firm, which according to DVSA records has operating centres in Alford, Goole, Grimsby and Lincoln, runs a fleet of 34 trucks.

It has recently taken delivery of three Mercedes-Benz Actros units, which entered operation in June and July, and has three Scania R units on order for September.

The fleet upgrade came after receiving funding support from Clydesdale Bank for the MBO, which allowed the firm to remain in the ownership of people close to the business.

Limb, now MD (pictured right) said: “Will and I are proud to have completed the purchase of a thriving business which we have both helped grow over the years. The completion of this deal allows us to consolidate the business and plan for the future from a solid footing.”
