MAN Truck & Bus UK has appointed Simon Elliott MD following the departure of Des Evans due to ill health.
Elliott has been MD of Volkswagen Group Ireland for the past three years, responsible for cars and CVs. He was previously MD of VW Commercial Vehicles in the UK, and has held senior roles with DaimlerChrysler and Toyota. He is also an ex-director of Scunthorpe Football Club, according to his LinkedIn profile.
MAN Truck & Bus UK chief financial officer Adrian Sargent said Elliott’s appointment, which takes effect from 8 September, was a huge boost for the company.
“Simon’s background and obvious enthusiasm will enable him to hit the ground running and he will have the unwavering support of everyone at MAN Truck & Bus UK,” he said.
