Scania is offering free activation and a ten-year subscription to its OnBoard Monitor telematics package for all operators of its trucks manufactured in 2011 onwards.
Existing users will automatically have their subscriptions extended to 10 years and operators running used Scania trucks can have their subscriptions transferred to their account, provided they have already had their package activated.
Matthew Watson, general manager, Scania Optimise Services, said: "The proven economic and environmental benefits of Scania OnBoard, plus our commitment to deliver operators with the best possible transport efficiency, underpin our decision to provide this valuable service on a complimentary basis."
The Monitor package provides access to data such as mpg, driving styles and carbon dioxide emissions. Watson said this can be upgraded to Scania’s Control package, which gives operators access to information including live vehicle positioning and individual driver performance.
The package also allows workshops to remotely access vehicle fault codes, maximising vehicle uptime by speeding up diagnostics.
