Hope Construction Materials has added 36 Mercedes-Benz Arocs trucks fitted with McPhee mixer systems to its 300-strong mixer fleet.

The 8x4 Euro-6s have been fitted with a system developed by Cycle Safety Shield, which includes a lane control system, collision avoidance and Mobileye technology that warns a driver if a cyclist or pedestrian is too close to the vehicle.

They have been supplied in a five-year contract hire and maintenance deal and will be maintained by Mercedes’ nationwide dealer network.

James Colbourne, head of strategic accounts, trucks, MercedesUK said: “This is the first fleet of 8x4 Euro-6 Arocs mixers to enter service in the UK and Hope has demonstrated how both safety and sustainability work hand in hand.”
