Unite members at Sainsbury’s distribution centres (DCs) across the country have decided against industrial action following a strike at its Haydock, Merseyside DC last month.

According to the union, drivers and warehouse staff at the supermarket’s Hams Hall, Elstree, Basingstoke, Waltham Point and Rye Park DCs have decided not to pursue industrial action against changes to the staff pension scheme.

Unite national officer for transport and logistics Matt Draper said: “Our members have decided not to go down the industrial action route. We will, however, be pursuing our members’ grievances through the normal negotiating channels and hope the company is willing to engage with us to resolve the outstanding issues.”
