The MD of Buxton-based Lomas Distribution has expressed his delight after the company secured the Winsford warehousing business of collapsed firm Seafield Logistics saving jobs in the process. Following Abbey Logistics successful deal for much of the failed business’s bulk powder operations, Lomas Distribution secured Winsford and the palletised transport operation for its largest customer on 11 June. Norbert Dentressangle will cease providing warehousing and distribution services to collapsed retail chain Comet from tomorrow (21 December). Last month the operator warned its five-year £100m contract with Comet, which it only signed earlier this year, was in the hands of the retail chain’s administrator Deloitte.
